TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Toll road consortium PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk (CMNP) plans to build exclusive motorcycle lanes in the toll roads that they plan to construct this year. This sparked talks of creating a toll road specifically for motorcycles.
CMNP is scheduled to construct two toll roads in 2019 in Medan and Bandung.

In response, Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Secretary General Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey JP said that IMI will provide assistance if asked by the government through the Transportation Ministry.
“We will provide support in terms of our capacity to educate the masses on toll-road safety-riding courses. I am sure that the government has thought about this plan, such as separating the car and motorcycle lanes,” said Jeffrey at the IMI headquarters on Monday.
The remaining issue that needs to be handled according to him is to educate motorcyclists on the great risk of operating a two-wheeled vehicle in toll roads.
